BASIC PRINCIPLES OF PHOTOGRAPHY

Analogical and digital photography:

  • Aperture
  • Shutter speed
  • Light Colour

  • Focal length, etc.

Basic principles of using a camera:

  • Light and lighting arrangement
  • Backgrounds
  • External shots

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY IN DENTISTRY

Specific equipment:

  • Cameras, video cameras, DSLRs, point-and-shoot cameras
  • Lenses, flash
  • Retractors and mirrors
  • Connecting the camera to a computer
  • Image transfer
  • Types of photography and applications
  • Preparing the equipment for the patient
  • Image workflow: filing and processing
  • The importance of clinical documentation: the protocols

PRACTICAL APPLICATION

Shooting, use of mirrors and retractors. Each participant will shoot at least one set of photographs from full-face to close-up shots.

PREPARING THE SET

  • How to compose a slideshow - How to compose an emotional dentistry video

DENTIST-PATIENT COMMUNICATION

  • Using photography and film for better, more effective communication with patients
  • How to add captions and create a clinical case

RECOMMENDED EQUIPMENT: Participants are welcome to bring their own equipment for explanations regarding settings and tips. Participants are advised to bring an assistant with them for both the practical and the theoretical parts of the course.

Participants will be given course materials (handouts, files, videos/video reporting) - Coffee break and light lunch included.
